Horseback riding in Menorca
MENORCA AND ITS HORSES
We have been working since the beginning to have a good herd of horses that allows us to enjoy with them and offer our guests safe rides. Cavalls Son Angel is a bussiness and it has to be profitable but is also true that we do our best to put ourselves in the horses’ shoes and work hard to respect their nature and their horse status. That’s why our horses live togheter and enjoy an environment of 260Ha with everything they need to lead a life as close as possible to what they would have if they were completely free. The horses living in a herd means that we have calm horses and we can offer safe rides. They are happy, so are we.
Most of our horses are Pure Menorcan, a native breed form Menorca. They are very adapted to the climate, to the resources in the pasture of the island and to the rocky terrain. In the origins they were used to defend the island and as farm horses. Nowadays you can find Pure menorcan horses doing almost everything, dressage, jumping, carriage driving… but most all they are the main protagonists in all the big celebrations in our island and in summer festivities.

SON ÀNGEL, ABOUT US
Toni Bosch and Catalina Florit have been around horses since they were childen. They started as professionals in 2004 and since then they have been organizing trails and rides in the Son Àngel ranch. They have done many things with horses (dressage, jumping, trotting races, horseball, Fiestas) but always trying to do it from the horses’ point of view and respecting the horse nature as much as they could. They were the first to organize in Menorca seminars of “natural horsemanship” with the best professionals in horse training and ethologists. Since more than 40 years they never stop learning from horses and from other professionals to understand what these amazing animals need to be physically healthy and mentally balanced.
